fusion - a few case studies
Here's a small selection of case studies, there are also portfolios to
show you if you are especially interested in the graphic element of our
work.
e do like however , to emphasise our commitment to websites that work as
opposed to things of beauty. That does not mean that we dont believe in
aesthetics, simply that there is a right order of priority when investing in
your company website and we like to focus on results whenever we can.
The planning portal
The planning portal is an award winning government website that provides
a central point of contact for everything to do with e-planning. By that we
mean making and managing planning applications online by electronic means as
opposed to on paper
The portal is a deceptively large collection of powerful tools to support
the public. planners and government officers in going about their daily
business.
In 2006 one of our consultants was hired to review the progress of the
portal, define a new strategy including measures to overcome various
barriers to growth and create a product roadmap to include severing the less
successful branches while concentrating efforts on the others as well as
capitalising on new opportunities.
This project was so successful that it immediately led to our being retained to design, train and support an entire product management methodology for the department, hence equipping them to carry out this type of review and decision process themselves on a regular basis.
Our work at the DCLG lead to considerable improvements in performance and
the portal went on to win even more awards and to grow it's audience at a
time when government websites were being routinely shut down in all
quarters.
Becta
The British Educational Communications Technology Association went through a major period of reform and growth in the past five years and in particular were transformed form an agency that managed the entire stock of some 103 websites within the DfES portfolio, to a strategic organisation advising the education sector on best use of technology.
These changes lead to fusion being engaged to develop a cohesive portal from the 103 websites and migrate all of them to a content management system. The entire project took almost two years to complete and brought an outstanding level of cohesion to this are of education as well as educing dramatically the cost of managing all of this online content.
Npower
Currently fusion is involved in the redesign and redevelopment of the Npower web presence and in particular form a look and feel and usability viewpoint.
Environment Agency
fusion has just completed a six month project to design a workforce planning and scheduling system delivered via mobile devices.
